I Found A Hard Drive!

I was looking through my closet with all of my computer parts and I see something, it looked like a hard drive. I picked it up, and sure enough, it was a hard drive. An old 10GB hard drive, but hey it works. So right now my web site is off line. I am going to reinstall Ubuntu server on my web server and make a new server as a file/print server so my web server doesn’t have to do that as well as be a web server. So because of that my web site is going to be down for a while. But I am also planning on buying a domain name for my web server (probably mloberg<*dot*>com).

The weekend is just not long enough.

No Extra Hard Drives

Well, this week has been busy. I am working on a LFS (Linux From Scratch) system and its not going so well. I also did a major update to one of my computers. This weekend I was going to get my LFS system done, but someone asked me to recover files off of a corrupted cd, and thats not leaving me enough to work on my LFS system. So I moved my server. I also need another server, I want to keep my web server a dedicated web server. Right now its a file server as well. But I don’t have another hard drive, I have enough other hardware to build four or five computers, but no more hard drives. I am also running out of room on my file server, my portable hard drive, and my main hard drive. How do I run out of space?

I’ve read a couple of articles about future computing. They all pretty much say the same thing. The desktop is going to become obsolete. Everything is going to be based off the internet. So all of your stuff, your operating system will be off the internet. That way the desktop is going not to need these huge hard drives and all this other stuff. You can already see it with things like GCal, Zoho, Google Docs, Gmail, Flickr, Photoshop Express. So what I want to do is make a Linux distro that takes a step towards that. There is one, but it is completely based off the web and doesn’t have much functionality. I have a couple of ideas and I’m going to try them out.

My web site is working, but I want to get a domain name for it. Right now its located at mloberg.homelinux.net, but I want to get a 1st class domain name, like WEBSITE.COM.

My blog is so close to being done. I am having some problems. With Linux you have to set all these file permissions and they just aren’t seeming to work the way I want them too. But it’s almost done, hopefully by next week.

In other news, I went to the chiropractor, turns out my lower back is rotated counter clockwise a bit. Thats why my back hurts.

For my new blog, it will be hosted on one of my personal computers. It’s almost ready to go and should be done by Tuesday depending on how much homework I get. One note about this is, that it will load a little slow because I don’t have blazing fast internet, but it should work.

Getting A New Blog (Hopefully)

I love wordpress, but what they offer on WordPress.com just isn’t enough for me. So within the next week, I plan on setting up a web server and installing wordpress on it. Now you might be thinking, He’s leaving wordpress for wordpress? Well yes. WordPress.com is great for those who just want a basic blog. But I want a little bit more then a basic blog. This new blog will be better, I guarantee you that.

So I was part of the chain gang for the Pequot Lakes High School Varsity football game against Pelican Rapids. Pequot lost 15 to 39. Hopefully we do better then last year.

I also get to go to a Twins baseball game tomorrow and get to be in a box.

Yesterday was a busy day. Here’s a run down of what I did. First I woke up at 6:30, took a shower, got dressed, ate, left for school, got to school at 8, found my locker, tried to open my locker (finally opened about the fith time), found my first class, get an intro to that class, meet with my advisor, get the student handbook, fill out some papers, went to second period, got an intro for that class, leave so the principal talk to the whole Junior class, went to third period, can you guess what we did (another intro), then went to my fourth period, got another intro, ate lunch, went to my fith period class, yet another intro, math work packet, went to sixth period, the last intro of the day, went home, talked about my day for a little bit, drove a truck down to Kimball, went to St. Cloud, ate supper, drove home, went to bed.

My locker is right next to two popular kids, so there’s always people in my way of my locker. I like the five star notebooks with the five subjects in it, but I bought one that the only papers that would fit in it are papers from the notebook itself. So I had all these random papers shoved in there, its amazing I didn’t lose anything.

We had pictures today! The second day of school! Today I got my textbooks, my Advance Biology book is heavy. Just a little bit of math homework so far, nothing to bad yet. I like all my classes so far, so thats good. Only 170 more days of school.

Well, yesterday I was able to film two funny commercials and then the main movie. I come to edit it today and, dang I forgot to film an intro for the movie. Well, looks like it might be a couple of weeks before the movie gets up on YouTube. Other then that I am currently trying to create my custom Distribution of Linux. Its a learning process, but it is very fun and interesting.

So, I am currently taking a break from my first filming. Conner is over and we are making funny commercials, until my sister wakes up so we can tape the main video. Any ideas for funny commercials?

New YouTube Channel

So after this summer I am kind of obsessed with super heroes. The last
three weeks of summer camp I got to be Little Lebanon and do a little
skit before lunch everyday.

I’ve always wanted to create a YouTube channel and entertain some people, but I have never known what to do. Now I have an idea. An ongoing story about a superhero. I am going to start taping some stuff tomorrow. I hope it goes well. I will post the link as soon as there is something on it.
